The 2017 AMAs will be held on Sunday, November 19th, 2017 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 8:00pm ET.
As of today, we know that Christina Aguilera, Diana Ross, and Selena Gomez will be performing at the event. The newest and rising newcomer, however, is the Korean, KPop band BTS.

Diana Ross – The American Music Awards Lifetime Achievement
Diana Ernestine Earle Ross (born March 26, 1944) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Ross rose to fame as the lead singer of the vocal group “The Supremes”, which, during the 1960s, became Motown’s most successful act, and is to this day the United States’ most successful vocal group, as well as one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time.
It was officially announced on October 18th, 2017, that Diana Ross will be honored at the “2017 American Music Awards” with the “American Award for Lifetime Achievement” in recognition of the remarkable career and her numerous contribution to the music and entertainment industry.
Diana Ross will also be on stage to perform a rare performance. Diana has also been the host of the AMAs in 1986 and 1987.
As a reminder, the “American Music Award for Lifetime Achievement,” formerly the “American Music Award of Merit”, is only given to artists who have made truly exceptional contributions to the music industry. The award was last given in 2016 to Sting. Additional previous honorees include Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Gloria Estefan, Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Annie Lennox, Loretta Lynn, Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley, Prince, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Tammy Wynette.
Christina Aguilera – Tribute To Whitney Houston
Christina María Aguilera (born December 18, 1980) is an American singer, songwriter, actress and television personality. Born in Staten Island, New York and raised in Rochester and Wexford, Pennsylvania. She rose to prominence with her 1999 self-titled debut album that spawned the Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles “Genie in a Bottle”, “What a Girl Wants”, and “Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)”
On October 30th, 2017 – we learned that Christina Aguilera will pay tribute to deceased singer Whitney Houston which will include the notorious soundtrack from the movie released on November 17th, 1992: “The Bodyguard“. The African-American actress Viola Davis will be present to introduce Christina’s performance.
BTS – KPOP Band Debut
A Korean boy band formed by Big Hit Entertainment debuted with its song “No More Dream” on June 12, 2013, for which they won many New Artist of the Year awards.
The boy band BTS also known as Banta Boys or Beyond The Scene, has confirmed on Friday, November 3rd that they will be performing the song “DNA” from their latest release ” Love Yourself: Her” at the 2017 AMAs. The band is composed of seven members.
Bruno Mars – Most Nominations
Peter Gene Hernandez (born October 8, 1985), known professionally as Bruno Mars, is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and choreographer. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, by a family of musicians, Mars began making music at a young age and performed in various musical venues in his hometown throughout his childhood. He graduated from high school and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a musical career. After being dropped by Motown Records, Mars signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records in 2009.
Bruno Mars distinguishes himself for this edition of the AMAs as the artist with the most nominations notably for: Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Favorite Male Artist Pop/Rock, Favorite Album Pop/Rock, Favorite Male Artist Soul/R&B, Favorite Album Soul/R&B, Favorite song Soul/R&B and Favorite Artist Adult Contemporary.
